 Southport’s
Alex Mortimer will be out for an estimated 2 weeks after
obtaining knee damage.
Mortimer, 22, was substituted 5 minutes
before the end of a Southport XI’s 1-1 draw with
North West Counties outfit Congleton Town.
The
former Leicester City youngster joined Southport in November
2003 and managed to face edge out Paul Byrne for a regular
place at left-back. But the summer addition of Jerome
Fitzgerald will increase competition and Mortimer may
find it difficult to force his way back into the starting
XI.
